THp kids have learned a lot.
In the eight weeks of rehearsals which have preceded this weekend’s performances of “Voices of Rappahannock,” they have certainly learned more about acting.
In doing Cathy Kiley’s play, which is based on scores of interviews with lifelong residents of Rappahannock whose parents and grandparents were lifelong residents before them, the young people have learned of the county’s past.
In mastering improvisational techniques, they’ve learned to relax on stage.
And by helping to revise a play to suit thespians in grades six through twelve, by taking that reworked vehicle from inception to curtain rise, they’ve learned to have confidence in themselves.
“They’re so talented and so fresh. It's been really wonderful!” said Ms. Kiley.
She originally wrote “Voices of Rappahannock” under the auspices of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community with a grant from the Virginia Endowment for the Arts. First presented in
