more people are allergic to other pollens in the air at the same time, like oak or redbud.

People who are allergic to redbud pollen, for example, suffer from nose and eye irritation. This pollen has many spikes and points on its surface.

And oak pollen isn’t highly visible, but it’s in the air at the same time pine pollen is and can cause allergic reactions.

In addition to causing all the sneezing, runny noses and itchy eyes that most are familiar with, pollen has a few properties that many may not know about.

It’s abrasive. Use water, air or a soft brush to remove pollen from surfaces. Rubbing or wiping may cause damage to the finish on a car, to parts in delicate machinery and to surfaces like furniture, bathroom fixtures and televisions inside the house.

Pollen is also high in nitrogen. But don’t try to add more to your garden or flower bed. Pollen also contains toxic materials and more than the normal amount of pollen in the garden can damage sensitive plants.
