The last Rappahannock Elementary School PTA meeting began with a request from the Special Education teachers to sponsor a child to attend the Special Olympics in Richmond. Five students are eligible to participate in the event on June 5, 6 and 7. The association voted to provide the money for three students to attend. Anyone interested in sponsoring an additional child may contact the elementary school.
Mary Jane Swift and Linda Mallory proudly announced that over $3,000 was grossed at the Fun Fair. Considering the weather and all of the other special events occurring that day everyone was pleased with the outcome of the Fair. More committee chairmen were suggested for next year’s fair in order to improve every aspect of the event.
A PTA booth is planned for the Sperryville Fair May 23 and 24. Lemonade, balloons, popcorn, and National PTA information will be available.
