Landfill meeting
Jackson District and other concerned residents are urged to attend a meeting on the proposed landfill Sunday, May 17 at 2:80 p.m. at the Amissville fire house. Mr. Leonard Miller, Environmental Lawyer 6 Associates from Washington, D.C. will be present. “Ask your questions, give your support and consider the next 25 years that are at stake in your community,” said a meeting organizer.
Carnival set for June 10-13
The Amissville'Volunteer Fire Department will hold its »""«»! carnival June 10-13. The parade will be featured on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time in helping with the carnival, donating food, or entering anything in the parade, contact the firehouse at 937-5125 or Sheila Scott at 937-4357.

Michelle Hartz, a vice-president of Buraan Marsteller, the world's largest public relations firm, will be presenting the next RAAC Artists’ Forum Seminar. The seminar will cover suph topics as working with the media, publicizing your shows, self or business, creating special events, preparing promotional materials and reaching new customers in the region.

Herbal healing workshop
“Healing the Family in the Wise Woman Way” a workshop led by Kathleen Maier and Sherry Willis will be held in the Middle St. Gallery on May 23 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The workshop will present parents and individuals as their families primary healers. Chester Gap Honorary Fire Chief
Girls between the ages of 12 and 18 who wish to compete for the title of Chester Gap Honorary Fire Chief to represent the Chester Gq> VFD in upcoming parades should contact Karen Williams at 635-4673.
This contest is open to any girl in Rappahannock or surrounding counties.
The carnival dates for this year are July 22 through 25. A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded on July 25.
