Watson hbnored

for leadership

Dawn E. Watson of Sperryville was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, the honorary collegiate leadership fraternity at Bridgewater College.

A 1984 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Miss Watson is a junior French and History and Political Science major at Bridgewater. She spent this academic year in the Brethren Colleges Abroad program, studying in Strasbourg, France. Her campus activities include the French club, volleyball, and the Baptist Student Union. She is active in the Pinion Players, the campus drama society.

Miss Watson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Pendleton Jr.

Omicron Delta Kappa promotes leadership qualities and recognizes excellence in academics, campus life, citizenship and fellowship.

LFCC to hold

judging contest

The fifth annual Lord Fairfax Community College Invitational Livestock and Horticulture Judging Contest will be held Thursday, May 21 at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown.

Last year more than 150 young people participated, representing 31 teams from 16 area schools and two 4-H clubs.

This is the second largest contest of its kind in Virginia, and is sponsored by the Agriculture and Horticulture students of Lord Fairfax as a practical learning experience for area vocational/agricultural students and 4-H members.

Participants in the Livestock Judging competition must evaluate classes of cattle, sheep, and hogs.
