Plans are well under way for the Sperryville Spring Festival, to be held Memorial Day weekend, May 23 and 24. The event, which is sponsored by the Sperryville Business Council, will involve businesses, churches and civic organizations throughout the town and its surroundings.
As always, there will be no admission charge to any of the events or stores participating in the festival. The festival will open at 10 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
The event will include Faith Mountain Company’s fourth annual Festival of American Crafts as well as open houses at most of the town’s stores and shops. Several civic organizations will be holding book sales and other fund-raising activities as well.
For most Americans, Memorial Day weekend traditionally marks the start of the summer vacation season, and Sperryville’s shopkeepers will fete the occasion with special sales, refreshments and door prizes for their patrons.
Zile’s Toy Box on Main Street will be celebrating its grand opening, and Zibbo the down will be there to greet children of all ages.
There will be entertainment for children and adults, induding the well-known Fearless Airborne Coryury, which performs mime, magic and juggling. Live music will be set up throughout
