Mrs. Cary Thornhill was honored on her 80th birthday Saturday evening with a surprise party given by her family at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria.

Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morrison of Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thornhill of Vienna, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Matthews and Brandon of Bealeton, Kevin Thornhill and Debbie Kovack of Manassas, Dallas Johnson of Fayettsville, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Winfrey Thornhill of Noakesville, Mr. and Mrs. David Thornhill and daughter Elainia of WoodvQle, Miss Melanie Thornhill of New Jersey, Ms. Faye Price and Delma Coates of Culpeper and Gary Kopjanski of Boston.

After spending the winter with her daughter and family Rev. and Mrs. Cedi Corder in King of Prussia, Pa. Mrs. Ertha Hawkins returned to her home here Saturday accompanied by her son Amos who spent the night with her.

Mrs. John Warren and her infant daughter C.J. have returned home after spending a week with Rev. and Mrs. Bill Warren in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hopkins of Remington were Mother’s Day guests of Mrs. Gladys Schlosser at Fox Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hensley, Susan and Trey of Sonshine Acres camped on Skyline Drive over the weekend.

Miss Melanie Thornhill of New Jersey spent the Mother’s Day weekend here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill.
