The Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County is currently seeking proposals/bids from qualified waste hauling and disposal firms for the collection and disposal of Rappahannock County’s municipal solid waste, pursuant to the Virginia Public Procurement Act, Section 11-37 et Seq. of the Code of Virginia.
Rappahannock County’s municipal solid waste is currently deposited in a private sanitary landfill that will be closed July 1, 1987. Rappahannock County is currently pursuing acquisition and development of a public landfill facility but said facility will not be available to accept waste for some time.
Consequently, Rappahannock County is seeking proposals/bids for the collection of approximately sixteen (16) tons of municipal solid waste from three (3) “green box” dumpster sites, and its removal for final disposal (said proposal to include provision and maintenance of “green box’ ’ or similar equipment). **
