Woman’s Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet Tuesday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Toni Updike in Washington. All members are urged to attend.
Class reunion planned

Reading program continues
The summer reading program, READiscover USA-Celebrate, at the Rappahannock Library continues to provide excitement and inspiration each Wednesday at 10 a.m. for our children, ages 3-12.
Adults are also welcome to explore new books and to enjoy the programs with the children.
Each week there Mill be stories, crafts, music and contests.
This program will continue weekly through Thursday, August 13, and Mill close Mith a performance by “Puppets by Pizzazz,” in the evening. There will be no program on Wednesday, August 12.

Gallery Coffeehouse Saturday
Sponsors of the Gallery Coffeehouse announce that the mike will be open at the Coffeehouse this Saturday, July 18, from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.
There will be music, conversation, food and drink as usual, and the Gallery also offers an air-conditioned respite from the summer’s heat. Admission is $2 and all talent is welcome.
New watercise classes
The Child Care and Learning Center Mill sponsor a new type of cool exercise class during August. These classes will be held at the Leggetts’ indoor pool down Harris Hollow and will be taught by Rose Ann Sharp. Bi-weekly classes Mali be at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning August 4. Class fee is $25. Students need not know how to swim or even get their hair wet! Exercises will work arms, legs, waist and hips Mrithout a drop of sweat! Celebrate the different cultures of our county and surrounding areas on Sunday, August 16, at a place and time to be announced. There will be food, art, crafts, performances and “Creative Prayer Circle” for peace, love and harmony among all the people of the earth. Artists, craft persons, performers and cooks are needed. Members of the black, Hispanic, native American, mixed blood and Asian communities are particularly encouraged to participate. Young people’s art is welcome; family photos too!

Drawing class at Middle St.
Middle Street Gallery is offering a drawing class for children ages 5 to 18 on Tuesday and Thursday, July 21 and 23. The class costs $10 and financial assistance is available. Instructors Mill be Laurie Marshall and other gallery artists. Please register by July 17.
The class is offered in conjunction with the current exhibition of new paintings, photographs and sculptures entitled “Images of Youth.” The show runs through July and the gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, 11 until 7.
