7 p.m., Hot Jazz, a seven-piece jazz band from Washington, D. C. will perform a repertoire of big band numbers from the twenties through mid-forties. Hot Jazz, according to a Bluemont spokesman, captures the look, the sound and the atmosphere of creativity that was jazz during the Swing Era.
Once again, organizers suggest blankets, lawn chairs and picnics be brought, and the requested donation will be $1 per person.
“Bluemont is a volunteer-based organization,” the spokesman said. “Our volunteers do much of the work that makes these community concerts a reality. If you would like to join the list of Bluemont Friends and volunteers that help make these evenings happen, please give your name, address and phone number to someone at the reception table at the concert.”
