Whenever possible, Mrs. Terry suggested, it is best to do business with an established, local agency with a proven track record. It is important, as well, to look beyond the beautiful brochures and ask for specifics about hotel accomodations, travel dates, ground transportation and any hidden costs or premium payments.

The most important rule of thumb, she concluded, as with any consumer purchase, is that if a deal appears too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions, and don’t settle for evasive or unclear answers.
