Mayor Morehouse, with accord of council, directed that Mr. McCarthy be notified that the town owns the sidewalks and that any improvements must come before council for approval.

• Directed Mr. Reynolds to draft a letter to Potomac Edison informing them of a number of allegedly dangerous situations of powerlines and poles. “Those people have done everything they can to provoke this town,” said Mr. Wickens. “They have been as arrogant about this town as they can be — it’s time to let them know we are serious. Tell them they may find themselves subject to a utility ordinance which they may find unpleasant.”
