Writers’ Guild
to meet Sunday
The Shenandoah Valley Writers’ Guild will hold its first fall meeting Sept. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown.
The guest speaker will be John Douglas, editor of the Morgan Messenger in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., who had his first noval published this year. “Shawnee Alley Fire” is a murder mystery that has received excellent reviews and is going into its second printing. He will read from his novel and discuss the research that went into it and the publication of it.
Preceding the meeting, a Dutch treat luncheon will be held at McSylvie’s in Middletown, with the guest speaker scheduled at noon. For reservations, call Sharon Setzer at 8883104, or Felicia Cogan at the college at 869-1120.
