Before its approval by the FDA in July 1981, more than 100 scientific studies were conducted with a crosssection of men, women and children as well as animals over an extended period of time. In some studies the amounts of additive consumed were equivalent to nearly 550 teaspoons of sugar. There were no evidences of any ill effects from consuming Nutra-Sweet in any of the studies.
