In other action at Thursday’s meeting, the WSA:
• Approved the purchase of thine back-up control panels, at $1,600 apiece, for the dual pump systems which serve four businesses and four residences connected to Sperryville’s sewage treatment plant. The eight are non-standard units which may require four to six weeks delivery time for a replacement in the event Of a malfunction. “I’d rather invest the money in these back-ups instead of sweating it out if there’s a breakdown," said Mr. Price. "The four to six weeks delivery time scares me.”
• Authorised plant manager Urn Falls to have two loads of gravel applied to the treatment plant’s access road at an estimated coet of $800.
• Learned that the Environmental Protection Agency’s "interim final audit” of the $1,490,847 grant awarded for the construction of Sperryyille’s sewage treatment plant will be conducted after the facility’s one-year performance certification, set for Nov. 17.
