With children heading back to school this week, it is an excellent time for parents to get their youngsters started off right for the year. Often, the first days and weeks of school can set the tone for the child’s entire year.
A juvenile probation officer I work with is convinced he has discovered the four essential ingredients for a child to be successful in reaching his potential in school. His formula?
• Be consistent in attendance.
• Always do all the assigned homework.
• Study for at least one hour each night.
• Do not do anything in class which would cause the teacher to dislike you.
