Catliiig * county-eponeored spray program to control gypsy moths "both premature and unworkable," Rappahannock’s Gypsy Moth Committee has recommended that efforts for 1968 be confined to creating and tending the position of Gypsy Moth Coordinator.
Administrative assistant John McCarthy, the committee’s chairman, told the supervisors last week that the part-time position would take about 16-21 hours per month, with the coordinator concerned primarily with determining the locations and concentrations of the moths.
The coordinator would conduct field work between July 1 and Oct 1 of next year to delineate infested and defoliated areas and would present a plan for spray treatment at the board’s November meeting for approval or denial.
