The Northern Virginia Foxhuntera Association Inc. held their 23rd annual Bench Show & Field Trial last week with headquarters at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises. A total of 202 hounds were entered. Fourteen of the hounds were from Red Oak Kennels and they brought home 7 trophies.
The hounds placed in the top ten, also placing in speed and drive, hunting, trailing and endurance. Only one was eliminated for faults.
Misses Bonnie and Tanya Brown of Gaithersburg, Md., were weekend guests of their parents Mrs. Chloe Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Brown.
Rev. Kirby Shenk of Luray and Cecil Atkins spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Chloe Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown were her guests Sunday.
Melissa Brown of Sperry ville visited Mrs. Opie Crawford Sunday afternoon.
William Faulkner and friend Mary, Mrs. Edna Woodward, John Woodward and Don Biggerstaff of Castleton were guests Sunday of Mrs. Ada Burke.
Mrs. Maurice O’Bannon was a weekend guest of Dr. and Mrs. John O’Bannon and family in Richmond.
Rev. A. C. Walker was guest speaker at the Woodville Baptist Church on Sunday.
