keep the street lights lit.

Peter Skowronski asked how the council will spend the $2,500 budgeted for sanitation, which includes trash collection, grass cutting and snow removal on the town’s sidewalks and rights-of-way.

Mayor Morehouse said he would like to see Ray Pullen, the town’s full-time employee, handle those tasks, but that the town has a contract with John Norman to provide those services which runs through August 1988.

So far, Mr. Fisher added, Mr. Pullen has been handling the services not provided by Mr. Norman.

The budget, which Mayor Morehouse emphasized is a blueprint for planning and not an authorization to spend funds, was passed unanimously by the six council members present. Planners ask for review

After finding that not all the members of the town’s Planning Commission had an opportunity to review the proposed amended Historic District Ordinance, the commissioners decided to take into consideration changes suggested at the joint public hearing held with the Town Council. Rather than to approve and recommend it to the council for passage last week, Commissioner Bill Frizzell suggested that they study the proposal once a copy which incorporated the changes is ready.

Planning Commissioner Joyce Kramer suggested that “we really need to look this over some more.”

Mr. Frizzell announced that the Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at the Courthouse to review the proposed Historic District ordinance. No accord on power lines

Mr. Reynolds reported that a committee of Mayor Morehouse, Peter Skowronski and himself has talked with Potomac Edison about the possibility of having the electric power lines within the town buried. Although no agreement has been reached, he said that the consensus seems to be that “we should work toward burying the power lines.”
