fall festival
The American Horticultural Society will hold its annual Fall Festival at River Farm on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This historic 25-acre estate on the Potomac River is located four miles south of Old Town Alexandria on the George Washington Parkway.
The fall gardens will be in bloom with chrysanthemums and dahlias as well as late season roses and perennials.
There will be fall bulbs and other plants for sale, artisans and crafts people, face painting for the kids, water gardening demonstrations, floral displays in the mansion provided by District II of the Federation of Garden Clubs and lots more. Lunch and refreshments will be available and all are invited to picnic on the grounds. 9 Admission to the Fall Festival is $2 per person. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.
