Wendy Ann Compton of Amissville and Sillus Wayne Chapman of Maryland were united in marriage at noon Saturday, April 25, at NPEA Tabernacle. The ceremony was performed by Rev. L. D. Savage.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richard Compton of Amissville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chapman of Chicago, 111.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of metallic organza fashioned with fitted beaded bodice, stand-up collar and long leg-o-mutton sleeves. The full embroidered skirt had a long ruffled train. She carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias, white roses, dendrobium orchids, white hyacinth blossoms and baby’s breath.
Matron of honor was Tammy Sanford of Washington. She wore a floor length blue tissue lame dress and carried a cascade of rubrum lilies, dendrobium orchids, and pink and white hyacinth blossoms.
Bridesmaids were Missy Sheffield of Viewtown, Pam Peyton of Amissville, Lisa Gheen of Bealeton, Tammy Hale and Lori Peregory of Culpeper. They wore floor length magenta tissue lame dresses and carried cascades of rubrum lilies with miniature carnations, pink hyacinth blossoms, and baby’s breath.
Mrs. Lillian Crews of Washington, Va., was the seamstress.
Best man was Private First Class Marcus Chapman of Fort Devens, Mass., brother of the groom.
