Wakefield’s varsity soccer team brought home the winning trophy Saturday after having defeated both West Albemarle High and Charlottesville High in matches that were part of a four-school invitational tournament hosted this year by last year’s winner, St. Anne’s Bel-, field School.
In David and Goliath type contests, which pitted Wakefield’s varsity soccer team against the varsity teams of two much larger public high schools, the Owls upset their opponents, defeating West Albemarle by a score of 3-0 and shutting out Charlottesville High, 2-0.
