The movie Drums Along the Mohawk will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 14 and 15. Celebrate Washington’s birthday with Drums Along the Mohawk. Directed by legendary John Ford, this film stars some of Hollywood’s greats - Claudette Colbert, Henry Fonda, Edna May Oliver, John Carradine, Jessie Ralph, Arthur Shields, Robert Lowery, Ward Bond. Ford richly captures the flavor of Colonial life in this vigorous, appealing story of settlers in upstate New York during the Revolutionary War. Action, drama, sentiment, and humor are deftly interwoven in beautiful Technicolor. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. Note: this film will be shown on Sunday and Monday this week, due to the Saturday performance of Cornerstone Theatre.

Fashion show planned
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will sponsor a fashion show on Sunday, March 13 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. This year’s theme “Luck of the Irish” will be held at 2 p.m. Advance tickets and/or patron ads may be purchased from any member.
Girl Scout Cookie time
It’s Girl Scout Cookie time. Girls will begin taking orders for cookies Friday, Jan. 29 and continue through Feb. 15. Cookies will be delivered after March 1. Self-health for women
A four-part class on women’s health will be held at Middle St. Gallery, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The course will be taught by Kathleen Maier and Sherry Willis, who are both experienced in providing health care for women. Cost of the course is $40. For information or to register call 636-3078.
