The Rappahannock scoring attack was led by the team’s two big men, Freeman and Foster, who each tallied 13 points for the game. Eric Dunn kept his consistency going despite the losing effort, adding 12 points to the total.
The one loss charged against the two wins still leaves the Panthers in third place in the district standings with four games left to play. Coach Gary' Leake predicted the fact that three of the four contests will be played at Rappahannock will be an advantage.
However, true to his season-long philosophy of “the most important game is the next one," Coach Leake declined to venture beyond Friday's game against Strasburg to predict the outcome of the season.
Right now, the playoff picture is still fluid, with only district-leading Central High School assured of a playoff berth, he said. Following Friday's contest at RCHS, the Panthers journey to Central next Tuesday to face the Falcons on their home turf.
Then, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, George Mason comes to Rappahannock for another meeting, followed by the season's concluding contest against Stonewall Jackson on Friday, Feb. 19.
