Mrs. Massie advised following the superintendent’s recommendation to remove the van from service. “But hold off on selling it until we ask a few more questions. ”
“Or ask our representatives in the General Assembly to ask the questions,” Mr. Oliver suggested.
Mrs. Massie endorsed that idea, at least to the extent of seeking help from Delegate Raymond R. (Andy) Guest. “Mr. Guest has been very good and very prompt about answering our letters, but I have yet to hear from Mr. Miller,” she said, referring to Kevin Miller, who represents Rappahannock County’s district in the Virginia Senate.
By consensus the board authorized the superintendent to make further inquiries to the law-makers and the Department of Education regarding the van ban.
