pleased with the award, but added that “there’s always room for improvement. My goal is to continue to strive for excellence in the quality and scope of our coverage of life in Rappahannock County. There are always things which we can improve. I hope that our readers will let us know what they like, and what they think we need to do better. It’s their newspaper.”
In a statewide competition sponsored by the Virginia Press Association, the Rappahannock News also brought home two awards. The awards were announced at the VPA’s annual convention in Richmond last weekend.
Mr. Hatter was awarded a second place in the “Pictorial Photo” category for his photo of a young fawn peering from the woods near Shenandoah National Park. The newspaper also received a second place award for its “Excellence in Handling of Display Advertising.”
