1 have been following the articles about the possible rezoning of the Cash Store on Main Street to accommodate the county health department and apartments. I understand the predicament about the present zoning. Mr. Reynolds states that rezoning can only occur- if the decision will benefit the general public.
The state health department has long been striving to improve the general health of this county by improving the health of individuals and by general education. Due to community growth, the present facility that the Rappahannock County Health Department is using is no longer acceptable.
At present all patients and clients are interviewed in the same room where others await service. In these interviews the person is asked his her income, family medical history and other personal data. They are then examined behind a sliding partition. Children are always running about. We are crowded, noisy, and frustrated as are the clients we serve. On any given day there are two nurses, a nustritionist, a doctor and a clerk. The sanitarian is also
