After the environmental reports are completed, Ms. Cummings said, they are all submitted to the federal Department of Transportation for review. Once the environmental document is compiled, she said, there will be a request from the department for public comment.
The Department of Transportation has offered no timetable for the completion of the environmental studies. Ms. Cummings said that requests for public comment are usually published in the local newspaper.
