The second in the current Community Concert series will take place on Thursday, February 25, at s 8 p.m. The Chamber Orchestra of the Auvergne, under the direction of Jean-Jacques Kantarow and with Constantine Orbelian, pianist, as featured soloist, will appear in the Culpeper County High School Auditorium.
Formed in 1981, the orchestra is comprised of 20 string virtuosos from all over the world. Since its debut in 1982 to wide critical acclaim, performances have been given in more than 50 locations in France and in many European festivals. Last year, its varied repertoire was heard in Belgium, Spain, Finland, Holland, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The current season includes a visit to Japan and its first tour of North America.
