February, the month of snow, promises to be just that this year. The forecast is for temperatures to be below normal and with an average amount of precipitation.
Look for cyclonic storms 7-9, 14lb, 24-27, with some flurries, though cold, 10-13.
Residents of the Southeast Sector should be on the lookout for tornado conditions 16-19.
President’s Day, the 3rd Monday, falls on the 15th, closely followed by Shrove Tuesday, known by many as “fat Tuesday” when all fats and eggs in the larder were supposed to be used up prior to the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday which called for 40 weekdays of fasting prior to Easter. Many today observe Shrove Tuesday by serving pancakes.
Don’t forget loved ones on the 14th, St. Valentine’s. Make it a special remembrance by giving an amethyst, February’s birthstone, which means sincerity.
