Soccer registration March 1 & 4 ; The Rappahannock County youth soccer league will hold its spring registration at the elementary school on Wednesday, March 1 from 3:15-5 p.m., and on Saturday, March 4 at the Amissville fire hall from 10 a.m. until noon. All children from grades kindergarten through seven are eligible. The cost is $15 per child, $25 for two and $30 for three or more children in the same family, for more information call Vinnie Carney (987-8440). Mrs. Carney emphasized that the league plans to limit registration to the two dates above, and that parents should make plans to bring their children to one of the two sites.
Three 7th graders take SATs
On Jan. 28, three RCES students took their Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT) — an ordeal usually reserved for older high school students. The three, Joseph Dunagan, Tucker Rogers and Bonnie Jewell, are participating in Johns Hopkins University's Center for the Advancement of Academically Talented Youth "Talent Search '89." The program allows students who score at the very top of standardized aptitude tests an opportunity to attend enrichment programs during the summer, as well as pursue more advanced course studies. The three students will receive the results of their SAT testing in about a month.
