CMH offers

prenatal classes

A series of six classes for expectant parents will begin March 1 and run through April 5 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Preparation for Parenthood Course is offered on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the hospital boardroom.

Designed for expectant parents who want to learn about the process of childbirth and related topics, the course costs $30. Ruth Partlow, LPN, will discuss prenatal care, Lamaze breathing techniques, medications and drugs, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.

Participants in the series will view a film on childbirth and take a tour of the obstetric unit at CMH, including the birthing room and the labor and delivery suite.

A breastfeeding follow-up class will also be offered Wednesday, April 12.
