George Washington Carver Regional High School, now known as Piedmont Vocational, will be officially recognized as a registered Virginia historical landmark on Feb. 19, during a special ceremony at 3 p.m. at the school. The George Washington Carver Regional High School was named for the world-famous black scientist who revolutionized agriculture, producing several hundred products ranging from medicines and instant coffee to cosmetics from the peanut and sweet potato.
