‘Voices and Visions' series begins
The Rappahannock County Library's "Voices and Visions" poetry series will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Led by poet and professor Peter Ktappert, the program wiM * focus on five different significant American poets. The series was made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association, and is open to all interested members of the community. The program will be held at Rappahannock County High School every other Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m. For information about the series, or to register as a participant, call the Rappahannock County Library (675-3780).
Technical Education Week
The students and faculty who participate in the 16 vocational education programs offered by Piedmont Technical Education Center are observing National Technical Education Week, Feb. 12-18. This year's theme is, "Vocational Education: Building Tomorrow's Leaders." The week, according to PTEC principal John J. Bodine, "will give students a chance to show off what they know and do in a variety of fields, from computers to health occupations, to trades and home economics. We want to educate the community about the level of skills our students gain here and encourage them to find out how vocational education teaches young people the skills they'll need to become productive workers — and community leaders." The school is offering a variety of activities to mark the national observance, including skill and leadership contests.
