One-car accident injures driver
Trooper C. A. Moore said that excessive speed is suspected as a contributing factor in a one-car accident on Route 211 Monday evening.
According to Trooper Moore, Wendy Sue Snyder, 31, of Fredericksburg, was westbound at about 9:45 p.m. when her car ran off the north side of the road just west of the Covington River bridge.
Ms. Snyder’s 1983 Chrysler sedan came to rest in a field, and when Trooper Moore arrived on the scene she was lying outside the car in the field.
She was transported to CMH by the Sperryville Rescue Squad for treatment of possible internal injuries. Trooper Moore said she was still in the hospital Tuesday evening.
The trooper said that charges are pending in the accident. He estimated damage to the car at about $1,000, and added that Ms. Snyder said she was not wearing her seat belt.
The Sperryville VFD also responded to the accident.
Both Trooper Baker and Trooper Moore said that they investigated several minor accidents during the morning snowstorm, and later in the afternoon when the rain turned to sleet around dark.
Blaming slippery roads for the minor accidents, and reporting that no one involved was iiyured, the troopers said they placed no charges in the other collisions.
