Virginians have inaccurate perceptions and very little awareness of state vocational education programs, according to recent survey findings.
“What this report shows is that we need to do a better job of communicating,” said Lydia Bell, director of" vocational program services for the state vocational education division. “Too many people still think we’re just teaching shop to kids who can’t make the grade in the classroom.”
