A wagering pool, sweepstakes, or lottery (such as a drawing or church raffle), if the proceeds are more than $1,000.

• Any other wager, if the proceeds are more than $1,000 and at least 300 times the amount of the bet. This includes wagers on horse races, dog races and jai alai.

Winnings from bingo, keno, and slot machines are not subject to income tax withholding.

If income tax is withheld from your winnings, you should receive a Form W-2G, Statement for Recipients of Certain Gambling Winnings. The statement will show the amount you won and the amount withheld.
