Rappahannock schoolchildren will have the opportunity to see Mr. Whiteman’s performance in school Friday; their parents can see him at 8 p.m. at the theater.
In his performance, Mr. Whiteman will try to give us a glimpse of the Washington that the history books don’t describe. Often troubled, always amazingly lucky at avoiding injury, a devoted father who never had his own children and suffered tremendously at the death of his wife’s — our first president felt keenly the responsibility of being the most popular American hero of all time.
Tickets to the event, sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC) are on sale now at regular ticket outlets. RAAC members can purchase tickets at significant savings by writing or visiting the RAAC office at the Gay Street Theater in Washington.
