He also specializes in orbits, which are circles inside of circles. He usually makes them into earrings of various sizes.
When asked if he’s a master craftsman yet he shrugged and said, “When you’re doing creative things you’re always learning. It’s a neverending process. I’ve been doing wave-links and orbits for years but it’s only been a couple of months since I’ve thought of combining them.”
Mr. Goodine hasn’t put out a catalog of his material because he doesn’t keep the jewelry around long enough, and he doesn’t advertise; yet he still never lacks for customers. He began selling in this area 20 years ago when he opened a stand at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston.
Most of his business comes from his mailing list or word of mouth. “I have a lot of repeat customers. People appreciate things that are handmade. All my things are fabricated. None are cast, so each piece is one bf a kind.
“People love their jewelry. I love what I'm doing, so it’s easy for people to love this kind of jewelry because there’s already some love put into it.”
