Logging meeting Feb. 21
A dinner meeting to discuss the future of logging in Virginia will be held at 6 p.m., Feb. 21, at the Amissville fire hall. Sponsored by the logging industry and the Virginia Department of Forestry, the series of meetings is designed to familiarize loggers with “Best Management Practices.” Voluntary BMPs, a forestry department spokesman said, if implemented by all loggers, will be more efficient and economical than the mandatory regulations which may be imposed if harmful practices are not curtailed. All loggers and their crews are invited to attend. For more information contact Forest Warden Tippy Jenkins (987-8837) or call (804) 977-5193.
