NOTICE OF PUBLIC

HEARING BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION

OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on February 28, 1989, at 8:00 o’clock p.m. in the Courtroom of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County in Washington, Virginia, the Planning Commission of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a public hearing on each of the following items:

1) An Amendment to the Historic District Ordinance to the Town of Washington, Virginia to provide that the number of members of the Architectural Review Board shall be no less than three, nor more than five members The number of members of the Architectural Review Board is presently set at three members.

2) An Ordinance to provide for the use of smoke detectors in certain structures in the Town of Washington, Virginia The Ordinance as proposed would not apply to single family dwellings, offices, or businesses not involving lodging It is anticipated that this Ordinance would apply to inns, hotels, apartment houses, and bed and breakfast establishments. Any citizen wishing to address the Planning Commission on either of these proposed amendments or ordinances, should appear at the public hearing and make their opinions known. After said public hearing, the Planning Commission may consider a recommendation of the adoption, the non-adoption, or the modification of the above mentioned ordinances or amendments, with said recommendation to be forwarded to the Town Council of the Town of Washington A copy of the proposed ordinances and amendments is available at the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County and at the Zoning Administrator's Office for the Town of Washington, Virginia and the County of Rappahannock, Virginia, during normal business hours.
