'The Fox and the Hound'
The movie The Fox and the Hound will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Two best friends, a baby fox and a puppy hunting dog, grow up and learn that they must be enemies in Disney’s timeless fairy tale. Now, for the first time sincce 1981, you can enjoy this wonderful film animated entirely by the studio’s second generation of cartoon artists. An extraordinary ensemble of vocal talents (Mickey Rooney, Kurt Russell and Pearl Bailey) adds to the charm of Disney’s delightful classic. The movie is rated G. Creative drama for children
Two drama classes for children will be offered by RAAC and the Golden Key Performance Group on Mondays for six weeks from March 6 to April 10.
The RAAC-sponsored class will be taught by Laurie Marshall at the Gay Street Theater for children ages 5-8. It will meet from 3:304:30 and cost $30. Call 675-3267 to register.
Golden Key’s class will be taught by Cathy Kiley at Washington’s Town Hall for young people ages 9-18. It will meet from 3:30-6:00 and cost $40. Call 987-3106 to register.
Both classes will involve improvisation, theater games and movement. Kiley’s class will also emphasize family stories, myths and folklore. Financial aid is available for both classes.
