“Land prices have remained constant,” he said.

“Things have really picked up,” he said, explaining that for several months advertisements were going unanswered, but after the first of the year, an advertisement was responded to by three to five clients.

“We have people looking and property selling,” he said. Mr. Henry said he anticipates Rappahannock County home assessment values to remain constant or show a slight increase when they are announced in the fall.

“Residential property assessment should be up little,” he said, adding farm land value should show a greater increase though still slight.

“We have people looking,” Mrs. Day said. “But, not only looking. We have people writing contracts.”

She said she has written six contracts since early February.

“In the past two years, there was a buying frenzy,” Mrs. Day explained, adding this tended to elevate home prices in the area and create a selling glut.
