County Administrator John McCarthy said, “It’s a real loss to Rappahannock that we will no longer be served by Andy Guest. He has been a real friend to Rappahannock.”
School Superintendent David Gangel said, “Andy has been one who has always listened. I’ve appreciated working with Andy Guest.”
Del. Guest himself is furious about the redistricting plan. “Because the Rappahannock News is a family newspaper, you can’t print what I think,” he said.
However, he did manage to find a few words to describe the redistricting plan. “I think it’s outrageous, blatant partisan politics, unnecessary, a sleazy plan,” he said.
He said the Democratic majority, which developed the plan, showed “a callous disregard for the rights of citizens in the furtherance of their own political agenda.”
Del. Guest’s former district included Rappahannock, Warren and Clark counties and parts of Fauquier and Culpeper counties. He now lives in a district made up of the western part of Warren County, parts of Shenandoah, Frederick, and Rockingham counties and all of Page County.
