When Rappahannock High baseball coach Mike Tupper watches his team compete against the older, more experienced Bull Run District teams, he sees a lot that’s positive.
Unfortunately, the young Panthers have struggled to put the pieces together, losing three district games this week.
The baseball team lost Tuesday to Stonewall Jackson-Mount Jackson, 14-6, in a game that was called on account of darkness after six innings. Highlights for the team were catcher Kevin Daymude’s grandslam in the first that gave the Panthers the lead briefly and standout pitching efforts by freshmen Hunter Foster and J.C. Welch.
