Elmer Jenkins
Elmer Thomas Jenkins, 72, of Viewtown, died Mortday, April 8 at his residence.
He was bom August 9, 1918 in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Herbert and Ida Burke Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was the owner and operator of Jenkins’ Garage in AmissviUe from its opening in 1947 until his death. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as well.
Mr. Jenkins was a veteran of World War II having been honorably discharged in 1946 as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He was a deacon and trustee of the Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Y. Jenkins; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine J. Woodward of Viewtown; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Spicer of Culpeper; three brothers, John Jenkins of Viewtown, Eugene Jenkins of Frederick, Md. and Gid Jenkins of California.
Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at the family cemetery, located at his home in Viewtown. Rev. Sidney Rodriguez and Rev. A.C. Walker will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown, Va. 22746.
Arrangements are by the Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton.
Roy Berry Jr.
Roy Edward (Sonny) Berry Jr., 52, of Washington, died Monday, April 8 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
A native of Culpeper County, he was the son of Mrs. Orelia Bawkey Berry of Washington and the late Roy E. Berry Sr. He was a farmer and a member of Gourd vine Baptist Church.
