Choral openings announced
The Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society announces a few openings for singers experienced in reading four-part choral music. Regular Monday night rehearsals begin at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Fellowship Hall of Precious Blood Catholic Church on Main Street in Culpeper.
The Christmas Concert will be held Dec. 6 at Lake of the Woods Church, and Dec. 8 at Precious Blood in Culpeper.
New members should arrive 15 minutes early for the first meeting.

Flint Hill couple at festival
Bill and Virginia Watson of Flint Hill spend all year preparing for the summer season of medieval recreations and Renaissance festivals along the East Coast. The last show of the season for the Watsons takes place outside Annapolis through Oct. 13.
The Watsons make custom and historical leather clothing and sell it to the fairgoers.
"In just one and a half hours, you could go back in time 400 years," said Mr. Watson, to the days of Henry VIII and his court.

Sisters play Woodsmoke
Vicky Pratt Keating and sister Dor'nel Pratt perform sibling harmonies of country and folk songs at the Woodsmoke Cafe in Sperryville Friday night.
