The participants in this year’s “Reading is Dino-Mite” summer reading program did a marvelous job earning $1,000 for the library, attending and enjoying the weekly programs, and reading a grand total of 1,790 books, a Rappahannock County Library record.

An average of 82 children attended the programs each week. Seven to nine prizes were awarded to the participants each week thanks to the generosity of 18 area merchants and community groups. Their contribution of $274 worth of prizes also provided 11 grand prizes.
