“This is my business, separate from the store,” he said with a smile, adding his wife is “boss in the store. I’m boss in here.”
Together, they make the place run.
Starting from scratch, the store plans were drawn on paper and supplies ordered and obtained.
The handmade shelves host a variety of store items, ranging from mustard and catsup to cleaning supplies and cold drinks.
The bright white and grey interior is accented with red gingham valances on the windows.
“I’d doubted it if anyone told me a year ago that I would be 15 hours a day in here,” Pat Gilbert said with a smile.
