Those attending the annual Talent and Variety Show, put on by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC), were treated to just that: a variety of talent.
The mixture of drama, music and comedy provided an entertaining, if somewhat uneven, evening, proving once again that Rappahannock’s greatest resource is its people.
Following raconteur Bob Scott’s opening introduction, Waldron O’Connor dug into his costume collection and emerged as Gen. George Washington, reading from a scroll to his friends in Rappahannock (then Culpeper).
The formal entertainment began with local thesbians Howard Coon of Castleton and Dinah Pehrson-Day of Sperryville doing a scene from “6 Rms Riv View.” Mr. Coon and Ms. Pehrson-Day have worked together on past productions in Rappahannock, and they demonstrated an excellent rapport on stage.
